Trip arrangements (お手配)
Every good ryokan arranges things for its guests: the front desk calls the restaurant, secures the room, sends the luggage ahead. We do that work for your whole journey, before you arrive and while you travel.
The best of the countryside is often reserved by telephone, in Japanese, during certain hours: the eight-seat restaurant, the family inn, the bathhouse that takes two groups an evening. Anna makes those calls. Everything you receive is in writing, in English.
流れ How it proceeds
- You write to us. A short form: dates, who is traveling, what you eat, how much walking you enjoy, and anything unusual. Trips should be at least 6 weeks away — many reservations open 1–3 months ahead, and good arrangements take time.
- A short call to see if we fit. Fifteen minutes, without charge, so we can hear what you're attempting and tell you honestly whether we're the right help. If we're not, Anna will say so and suggest what is. (The long planning conversation — where the trip gets built around who you are — is included in the packages below. If you only want that conversation and not the reservations, it is sold on its own as a call with Anna, and credited back if you later book arrangements.)
- We confirm the plan and the price in writing. One of the two packages below, fixed before any work begins. Payment is by card link.
- Anna makes the reservations. By telephone, in Japanese, batched in Japan's business hours. What you receive is a document of confirmed bookings with your name on them, set inside the day-by-day plan with train times and walking minutes.
- While you travel, we are reachable. A LINE or WhatsApp thread with stated daily hours. If a typhoon closes a line or a restaurant closes for a funeral, Anna re-arranges by phone.

An “arrangement” is one reserved thing: a restaurant seating, an inn or guesthouse, a luggage forwarding, a timed entry or activity. Longer trips, or trips needing more arrangements, are quoted first.
Two things we don't do
- We never hold your travel money. You pay every restaurant, inn and activity directly, as normal. Our fee covers the arranging work only.
- We don't sell or book transportation. No flights, rail, buses or taxis. Your plan includes exact written transport guidance instead: timetables verified, connections checked, the last bus home counted.
お約束 Our promise
組数 Capacity
Two trips a month.
Anna gives each trip her whole heart. That is wonderful for two trips and unfair to a third, so when the month is full, we will say so and offer the next one.

When you may not need us
If your trip is Tokyo and Kyoto with hotels that book online in English, the free planner is probably all you need. If you have a plan and mostly want a second opinion on it, a call with Anna is the smaller, cheaper right answer — fifty minutes, $150, and it comes off this price if you decide you want the reservations made after all. We'll tell you so ourselves if you write to us anyway.
Not traveling yet?
The free planner is our best knowledge, written down, until you need us in person.
The signup form is being prepared — for now, email hello@oguraso.com with the subject “planner”.
